PRODUCT DATA of AM 355
MaterialAM 355
Product DatasheetPyromet 355
General InformationAM-355 is a companion alloy to AM-350 differing from it by a slightly lower Cr content and a higher amount of carbon. AM-355 has high strength up to 425C and good oxidation resistance up to 535C. The AM-355 alloy is generally hardened by subzero cooling and tempering (Condition SCT). Due to the higher Carbon content then AM- 300, AM-355 usually has little or none delta ferrite. Data for SCT1000 condition

WeldingThis alloy can be successfully welded using all common methods with the notable exception of Oxyacetylene. While preheating the weld piece is not required, it is recommended that the material be annealed after welding to retain maximum properties. For best strength at elevated temperature a filler metal should be chosen that is of similar chemistry.
